THE MAIN JOB OF THE TAX ASSESSOR IS TO DETERMINE THE VALUE OF PROPERTIES IN HARRIS COUNTY FOR TAX PURPOSES AND ENSURE THAT PROPERTY OWNERS PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAXES BASED ON THE ASSESSED VALUE OF THEIR PROPERTIES.
I’m thrilled to share my vision for the role of Harris County Tax Assessor. If entrusted with this responsibility, I’ll be a tireless advocate for fair and compassionate property taxation. I understand that some of us may be concerned about the possibility of rising taxes leading to hardships, especially for those who are elderly or financially strained. My commitment is to ensure that the assessment process is accurate, fair, and considerate of our community’s diverse needs.
I want to implement measures that prevent undue burdens, ensuring that no one is at risk of losing their home due to excessive taxes.
